Purification of biodiesel from crude palm oil using multistage portable fixed bed adsorber

Crude biodiesel needs to go through purification process, meet international specifications.. The widely used adsorption column is in the form of a fixed bed column, where contents are stacked mess. This makes adsorbent difficult clean and fill, irregular accumulation can hinder flow fluid be purified. In this study, an with portable circulation system observe influence level on purity biodiesel. Main equipment research device. consists of: top distributor, packed bottom collector. tool made 3D printed polymer material. At tower there buffer tank pump for circulating results showed that some analytical parameters based t-test, namely: density, acid value, saponification yellowish-blue tendency, significant differences between before after purification. For all analyzed number stages gave significantly different results. methyl ester analysis confirmed this, more cycles higher peak produced. As increases, area produced becomes wider, which explained by ability its packing materials filter impurities present column.
